Destiny 2: Beyond Light Gamescom trailer preview of Stasis

At Gamescom’s Opening Night Live event, Bungie premiered a new trailer for Destiny 2: Past light. The discovery gave Guardians a better look at Stasis, the first new power in Destiny history.

The new preview video gives a great look at each individual class, and finally gives us a name for each of the new subclasses. Warlocks uses ice staff in the new Shadebinder subclass. Hunters use ice axes with the Revenant subclass. Titans can use the new Behemoth subclass to smash enemies with a refrigerator.

The trailer shows many other new skills, such as a Warlock Rift that seems to freeze near enemies.

The latest example from Guardians of Stasis came from an Xbox event on July 23rd. There, players saw some of the new features in action, including platform-capable grenades, and Bungie’s Stasis buzzwords: Create, Shatter, Encase.

Stasis is the first new group of powers we’ve seen, and will sit next to Solar, Void and Arc. The new skill will also have a completely unique upgrade tree, which Bungie will experiment with before bringing it to the other elements. Unlike the other three Supers, Stasis is the force of The Darkness, the antagonistic faction in Destiny. It is currently unclear how or why players will get the opportunity to channel this new element.

Guardians will discover everything about Stasis on November 10, when Bungie launches Destiny 2: Beyond Light for Google Stadiums, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. The studio has already announced a next-gen version of it Destiny 2 coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later this year.
