When Google de Pixel 4a confirmed this earlier this month as well two 5G-enabled devices called Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 is coming this fall. The tech giant said the phones are available in select markets including the US, Canada, the UK, Japan and Australia, and the Pixel 4a (5G) will start at $ 499. The price of Pixel 5 is apparently now as well come up.
Long before Google officially confirmed the existence of the Pixel 5, rumors circulated that it was not a true flagship device. It will apparently be driven by the Snapdragon 765G, the same chip that the Pixel 4a (5G) will report.
The Pixel 4 has the Snapdragon 855 under the hood and if Google does not plan to maintain an 800-series SoC this year, it will not be able to justify the $ 799 tag that was stamped on last year’s device.
According to a Google survey, the Pixel 5 start at $ 699 and this is now a backup made report.
Will the Pixel 5 be more of a Pixel 4 XL successor?
Google Pixel 5 is apparently on the left and Pixel 4a (5G) on the right
What is even more interesting is that it is claimed that the Pixel 5 is only available in the XL variant. This is in line with an earlier report indicating that the new device will sport a giant 6.67-inch screen.
Earlier it was reported that there will be no XL model this year and Google’s teaser image also doesn’t exactly point to a giant mid-range phone. That, we are not exactly sure if the phone comes with an enormous screen.
It is also claimed that the phone will support a 120Hz refresh rate, which seems completely plausible, given that Google put the emphasis on fast and smooth gameplay when talking about the device.
It could also become the first Pixel phone to support reverse wireless charging and the said survey also promises a class-leading camera. Motion Sense, the tech that makes Face Unlock so fast on the Pixel 4, will probably did not return, and the device will likely have a physical fingerprint scanner.
If a recent announcement goes through, the Pixel 5 will offer at least 8 GB of RAM and will be officially unveiled sometimes in October.
