Despite retiring from next week’s Xfinity race, Tony Stewart hints at a possible comeback soon


NASCAR legend Tony Stewart planned to compete in this Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, it announced last month that it will not show up due to problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. After that, in a recent tweet, he hinted that he will be back on track soon.

The legendary NASCAR driver posted a Tweet. He wrote, I thought I would do this again @SOY S on Saturday, but COVID and logistics intervened. Maybe another time.”

Last year, in October, Smoke drove a series car on the Circuit of the Americas after staying away from driving for many years. The last time he competed in NASCAR was in the 2016 season. In addition, he last competed in the Xfinity series in 2013 when he won the season opener at Daytona International Speedway.

After that, he said he would be interested in taking a real career for a spin. A few months later, he revealed that he would compete in the first race of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Xfinity Series on Saturday, July 4, 2020. He was to drive for his team Stewart-Haas Racing alongside Chase Briscoe in the ‘Pennzoil 150’. on the 2,439-mile IMS highway course.

The inaugural Xfinity Series race on the legendary IMS circuit will take place hours after an IndyCar race on the same track. It will be the first time that IndyCar and NASCAR host events on the same track on the same day. After that, the ” Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400 ” from the Cup series or more commonly known as the ‘Brickyard 400’ will run on the oval the next day.

Sadly, fans won’t be able to attend the long weekend of racing at Brickyard. But track management is hopeful that limited fans can attend the next Indy 500 in August.
