Former Washington Football Team running back Derrius Guice has been accused of raping two women while in college.
According to USA Today, two unidentified women accused Guice of raping her while she was at LSU in 2016. One woman claimed that Guice raped her while she was sleeping after it was revealed that she did not invite her to her party.
The second unnamed woman, a former LSU tennis player who sues the NCAA for failing “to address sexual violence against athletes at her member schools,” claimed that Guice raped her after seeing a bar, returned to her apartment and she died beside her out of bed. USA Today apparently could find that the allegations of rape were shared with “at least two coaches, an athletics manager and a nurse” at LSU. However, there is no evidence that the school has ever investigated the rape allegations.
The same report indicated that Washington was aware of at least one of the allegations of rape before Guice was cut.
Two former LSU students said former Washington RB Derrius Guice raped them in 2016, when he was an emerging star freshman. Although multiple coaches were notified, LSU does not appear to have investigated any of the women’s claims, a USA TODAY investigation found. https://t.co/2i83XUcCOF

In response to the allegations, Guice’s attorney Peter D. Greenspun released the following statement:
At no time were allegations of physical or sexual assault against Derrius brought to light during his years as a student athlete at LSU. To bring such assertions forward only after the Virginia charges were initiated certainly calls into question the doubt, the nature, and the timing of what is being held years later. Such speculation and innuendo should not be the basis for Derrius to be obliged to comment in any case. But he wants to be absolutely clear. The accusations in this story are just that and have virtually no basis.
Of course, Guice is acquitted until he is proven otherwise in a court of law, and he is not charged with crimes arising from the charges.
That said, if these claims can be proven when he is counted on at any point, then Guice is done with playing in the NFL.

Hell, Guice might have already been done playing in the NFL, despite what’s going on with these accusations. He has already been arrested for proving a woman.
Roger Goodell does not need a conviction to keep him far away from an NFL field. He can drop the hammer whenever he wants.
We’ll see what happens, but I think the days of Derrius Guice playing pro football are over for the time to come.
