Department of Health confirms 1 death, 42 new cases of COVID-19


JACKSON, Tenn. – The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department has confirmed one more COVID-19 patient, and another 42 Madison County residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

The health department says an 85-year-old man died on Friday from complications of COVID-19.

A total of 34 Madison County residents have died from complications of the virus.

The 42 new cases of COVID-19 bring the total number of positive residents of Madison County to 2,002, according to the Department of Health.

The new cases involve 16 men and 26 women between the ages of 18 years old and 84 years old.

The health department says there are now 20 Madison County residents hospitalized, and two patients are on a ventilator.

The health department also published statistics on patients, including zip code, race, gender, age, and their health status.
