“I was feeling pretty tired and sore after yesterday’s round, but I didn’t think much because I had practiced a lot Monday through Wednesday,” McCarthy said in a PGA Tour statement, obtained by CBS Sports.

“Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night with additional aches and pains and felt something was wrong. I felt the only thing I could do was get tested at that point before going to the course.”
