Over the past few days, a video of a 2009 special Robin Williams special featuring the late comedian making fun of then-Vice President Joe Biden has been circulating online. Eric Trump shared the video on Twitter – and Williams’ daughter, Zelda Williams, responded, saying her father also made fun of President Trump.
The no-viral clip is from Williams’ special, “Weapons of Self-Destruction.” In it, the late cabaret artist says, “We still have great comedy out there. There’s always Joe Biden to rumble.” He goes on to mock Biden, cursing with his words.
On Thursday, President Trump’s son Eric shared the clip on Twitter with a headline that read, “Robin Williams just rescues Joe Biden.”
Williams’ 31-year-old daughter retweeted the video, adding her response: “While we ‘remember’ (to increase your political agenda), you should look into what he said about your father. I did. I promise. you, it’s much more ‘cruel.’ Williams, an actress, director and producer, added: “Soft reminder that the dead can not vote, but the living can.”
In the years before Robin Williams died in 2014, the comedy legend had made some pointy jokes at the expense of Mr. Trump. In one clip from 2012, before Mr. Trump ran for office, Williams called him “a scary man.”
“He has all these beauty pageants … is not that just like Michael Vick has a series of pet stores? It’s a catch-and-release program for him,” Williams said during the show. “This is a man who said, ‘My daughter is hot.’ Even people in Arkansas went on to say, “That’s wrong entrance. That’s just out of place.” “
Zelda Williams’ post about her father comes just weeks after she paid tribute to him about what his 69th birthday would be.
“Today would have been Dad’s 69th birthday, so to honor him (& that glorious number) I’ll donate $ 69.69 to as many local homeless shelters as I can,” he said. she tweeted. “Do with me if you want, but anyway, know that I laugh at all of you at least one heart, immature belly of father today.”
Williams also posted a message to fans ahead of the anniversary of her father’s death, which is August 11th.
