Definitive Edition launches in October and is available for pre-installation

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition (Win 10) will launch on October 15, as confirmed with the new announcement trailer, which also reveals new details about two new civilizations and two new game modes. It is now available to pre-order, and if you are playing with Xbox Game Pass for PC, you can pre-install now.
Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition (Win 10) will add in The Inca and The Swedes as new civilizations, and Historical Battles and The Art of War will challenge missions as two new game modes. The Definitive Edition will also feature enhanced audio, 4K ultra HD graphics, and cross-platform multiplayer. The trailer above shows some wonderful side-by-side comparisons of how the game has been scaled up for the new editions.

As detailed on the game’s page, the Swedes are “a brand new addition to the franchise and deal with one of the most unlikely great powers in history: a small European people who convinced every military convention and became a powerhouse on the European battlefields through their innovative military tactics. ” The Incas, meanwhile, are described as “a more traditional Age of Empires civilization, treating one of the greatest empires in South America, where they constructed mighty stone cities, citadels and palaces.”
