Definitive Edition Gets New 15-Minute 4K Gameplay Trailer

Mafia: Definitive Edition is officially receiving a game reveal later today, however 15 minutes of never-before-seen game footage has been uploaded via IGN.
In the trailer, Hangar 13 President and Creative Director Haden Blackman tells us how the team created the remake from scratch, including rebuilding the entire city, the game, the scenes, and adding new lighting and audio engines. . “Knowing the importance of driving and shooting for the mafia franchise, we redesigned the entire core game throughout the game, keeping intact all missions, main mission rhythms, and underlying narrative,” says Blackman. New authentic vintage vehicles have been added, including vintage motorcycles and weapons.

Speaking to IGN, Blackman says the game is not a direct remake, and some changes have been made, “We knew from the start that the core narrative would hold up well. There were no giant holes in the plot that we had to shore up. The flow of the mission, the number of missions, we knew it would hold. The tone and core themes and setting: the Prohibition era, we knew that all of those things were things they would endure. Then when we started looking at the next layer, there it is where we said we needed to bring things up to modern standards. The way we tell the story, the quality of the kinematics, the representation of certain characters. ”

The official reveal of the Mafia: Definitive Edition game is scheduled for 8 amPT / 4 pm BST later today. Mafia: Definitive Edition launches on Xbox One on September 25.
