Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have taken on an interesting challenge by joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the 2020 season begins. Both veteran NFL stars feel they still have something to offer the game in the twilight of their careers.
Gronkowski, in particular, returned from retirement to join Brady in Florida. The 31-year-old tight end maintains he is still in peak physical condition and hopes to make his Bucs debut in the coming months.

Former Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski said Boston WEEI Radio about his decision to return from retirement to join Tom Brady in Tampa Bay.
“As a player, you always want to see what it’s like somewhere else. (I) thought about that before, definitely after playing nine years in the NFL and I also thought about it when I came out of retirement. ”
“This is an opportunity to go see what it’s like elsewhere, to see what it’s like in the NFL on another team. There are so many players who bounce off so many different teams. I loved my time in New England, hands down. But it was another opportunity he presented ” as transcribed by NFL Network.
Tom Brady and ‘The Gronk’ planned this in advance?
After nine NFL seasons with the Patriots, Gronkowski has three Super Bowl titles and five Pro Bowl appearances to his name. On top of that, ‘The Gronk’ has logged 79 touchdowns in his entire NFL career. Rob Gronkowski enjoyed a lot of success playing alongside Tom Brady under head coach Bill Belichick.
He was asked if he and Brady planned the entire ‘Tampa Bay’ adventure well in advance. This is what he said.
“No, we never talked about it before,” said Gronkowski. “It just happened. (With) my retirement and him reaching free agency, he just lined up like that. “ Gronkowski concluded.
