Defense ‘calls our plays’

Last year, the Baltimore Ravens made a defensive head spin with their record-breaking offense. Not surprisingly, the de-coordinators passed on the fission to study Lamar Jackson’s crime with a fine-toothed comb.

Apparently, they came away with a few sayings.

Said Jackson Rich Eisen Show Wednesday That defense knows what the Ravens will do when they line up.

“They’re calling our plays, this kind of stuff,” Jackson said. “They know what we’re doing. Sometimes stuff won’t get in our way if they hit us on the punch.”

Eyes pressed Jackson to see if he could call the defenders Ravens plays.

“Yeah, they definitely do,” Jackson said. “Choose, ‘Run’ and stuff like that. ‘Beware of this, beware of that.’ Sometimes that happens. “

The defense is ready for the Ravens ’multifaceted run game, in part, to explain why this time of season, Baltimore lacks interest and consistency for the long stretch. Even with the defense of knowing what to say, the Ravens have kept their streak of 20-plus points alive. He now sits in 10 straight games against 31 England v New England. Baltimore also tops the NFL, averaging 170.1 rushing yards per game.

This is not the first time I have heard rumors about defenders knowing Ravens plays. After Baltimore lost to Pittsburgh earlier this month, linebacker Alex Highsmith said he knew where Jackson wanted to go with the ball before the third-quarter hurdle.

“I know they were coming back when that play started because they were running the same play in the first part, and I don’t leave a deep drop,” Highsmith said via ESPN at the time. “So I learned from that play and just went further down the stairs.

At 2:30 p.m., Baltimore tries to bid for the postseason, even though the offense is not as strong as it was a year ago. There are half a season left for offensive coordinator Greg Roman and Jackson to fix the Kinks before the playoffs begin.
