Death of iconic suburban auto dealer Bob Rohrmann

Company sources said Bob Rohrmann, an auto dealer known for his hilarious television commercials and a suburban dealership by name, died peacefully with his family on Tuesday evening due to natural causes, company sources said.

The 87-year-old Roh, 87, of Lafayette, Indiana, gave birth to nine of his nine children in a log cabin in Lafayette. Today the auto toe group has a presence in Indiana, suburban Chicago and Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Company representatives said Rohrmann started the first new car dealership with Toyota in 1970 and under his guidance Bob Rohrmann Auto Group became one of the largest private car dealerships in North America with 27 new car dealerships.

In suburban areas, Bob Rohrmann dealerships are located in Sch શેchemberg, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Gurney and Oak Brook.

A more serious aspect of his TV business personality was found in his philanthropic and charitable contributions to the community where his dealership is located.

He recently funded the construction of a state-of-the-art-tennis complex for Lafayette Central Catholic High School, Lafayette Jefferson Public High School’s Performing Arts Center and Lead Gift, which led to the naming of Purdue University’s Rohrmann Field. Ross-Ade Stadium.

“The Rohrmann family cannot express its gratitude to every employee and friend who has worked so hard for them over the years and will look forward to continuing their legacy through the Bob Rohrmann Auto Toe Group,” the company said in a written statement. “His family will remember him fondly for his endless love and loyalty, generous heart for philanthropy, feminine spirit, contagious laughter and love for Purdue football.”

Funeral arrangements were pending Wednesday morning.
