On Thursday, Killed by daylight developer Behavior Interactively introduced features for cross-console, including matchmaking for multiplayer and a friends list of cross-platform. The game’s developer has a game base of more than 25 million, so this should significantly expand match capabilities for console users.
Cross-play now includes PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, where the survival horror game launched in 2017, 2017, and 2019, respectively. metas will bring Killed by daylight, ”Behavior said interactively in a statement.
The company notes that playing with friends from any platform “was a feature that the community extensively requested.” It called the new Cross-Friends list “an unusual multiplayer experience.”
In Killed by daylight, one player is a supernatural killer, similar to the big bad boy from a big Hollywood slasher franchise. They chase the other four, who try to survive and escape the killer. When they are caught, the killer initiates a “sacrifice” process that allows the victim’s teammates to rescue them (if not). The game has featured several famous comeo crossovers in the past year or so, from Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head, to Stranger Things’ demogorgon en Scream‘s Ghostface.
Behavior Interactive says the cross-platform functionality comes after a year of research, data analysis, and development. The game implemented cross-platform play between users on Steam and that of the Windows Store in November.
