Actress Kristian Alfonso says goodbye to her long soap opera Days of Our Lives, leaving the show after 37 years on the air.
The actress joined the soap in 1983 as Hope Williams, appearing in more than 2,500 episodes of the series in the past 37 years.
The show plans to start production on September 1, but as Alfonso, 56, revealed in his statement on Instagram, he won’t be back when filming begins.

“Days of our lives has been a vital part of my personal and professional journey,” began Alfonso’s statement.
“I am eternally grateful to NBC and the late Bette Corday, who took a chance on me years ago and changed my life,” she added, referring to the co-creator of the show who passed away in 1987 at the age of 75.
He also praised his co-stars, adding that he has forged ‘lifelong friendships’ with his fellow actors and praised the team for being’ one of the hardest working teams on all of television, many of whom have become part of from my extended family. ‘

She added that she felt “blessed and honored” to be invited into people’s homes “for more than three decades,” but now is the time for her to “write my next chapter.”

He then addressed his lifelong fans, adding that many of them “have been with me on this journey from the beginning.”
