EXCLUSIVE: David Arquette’s career has taken many turns that he never expected.

The 48-year-old actor and aspiring professional wrestler aims to make a comeback in the ring and he is ready to prove himself worthy for fans and critics.

Arquette told Fox News that the project was extremely “cathartic”.

“I learned a lot about myself – just the need to be friendly and love myself,” he described. “I have defeated myself for so many years and just kind of clung to a lot of unresolved pain, that, you know, through this process and through a lot of therapy, I learned a lot about what I want out of life and how to get it.”

The document features public interviews with his wife, Christina McLarty, and his sisters, fellow actors Patricia Arquette and Rosanna Arquette.

“It’s a very hard movie for me to watch,” Arquette added. “Yes, my wife, who produced the film, did an incredible job. At one point, [she] said, ‘You have to get out of the editing room. ‘”

The star “Never Been Kissed” hopes that the film will give fans a new perspective on his life choices.

“In Hollywood, your last movie typically gets your next movie,” he explained. “If you’ve had a career like mine, that’s 30 years ago, when your last movie did really well, you’re suddenly hot again.”

“Everyone wants to be able to work and in my company, if [the project] does it well, that makes it a lot easier. That I would like to continue [acting] but I have also learned through this process that you have to make things happen yourself. Nobody will do anything for you, “Arquette said.

“It was sad, really sad, but I got to know Jack Perry really well. And it really brought us a lot closer,” Arquette said. “[Jack] got the chance to see [the doc]. [Jack] loved the movie and he is wonderful in it. He’s just such a movie star. I think he’s just going to be a really great actor on top of a wrestler. “

“You Can’t Kill David Arquette” is available through digital platforms and on-demand from August 28th.
