Daryl Moore, Doc Rivers, explains George Hill’s Sixers acquisition

The Philadelphia 76ers took a step Thursday that they believe the position will help them advance to the playoffs that they believe are set for them. They got Pte George Hill from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 3-team deal that gives them a solid backup point guard.

Hill has played 127 playoff games in his career and has been a couple of runners in his career in the NBA Finals as well as the Eastern Conference Conference Finals. On top of that, he has a career from 38.4% shooter and he is a solid defender.

He is the type of two-way player that President Darrell More and Coach Doc are looking for the reverse.

“I think Doc had some good comments about finding a two-way guard recently and that one, which she thought, was one of the very few needs for us.” “It simply came to our notice then. A P te bi-directional guard who can shoot at very high levels and defend at high levels. “

When Hill is put in the right role, he can be a really solid player on any team. He scored 46% off the NDA in the 2019-20 season with the Milwaukee Bucks and is a solid p who can help a pretty young team. It’s something that people forget about relying on small players outside the Philadelphia bench.

“It’s just such a solid p te.” Said the rivers. “Only one person who chooses on your team. He got the heck off the ball, defended well, well te, and we’re a really young team. It would be great for us to add a person like him. ”

On top of that, Moore has put a lot of emphasis on acquiring all those shootings to make sure the floor is properly laid at the time he manages Joel Embid and Ben Simmons. That’s what brings Hill to the table and his ability to defend is what makes him attractive to the Sixers.

“Obviously, the shooting is premium for us, and I think he (Hill) probably led the NBA in the shooting,” Morey added. “I think it’s a big theme for us to get shooting at a two-way player like Danny Smith. I see it as an acquisition like we did with Danny Green. A guy who is going through many playoff battles. ”

For some the red flag may be due to the fact that Hill has not played a game since January 24 due to thumb surgery. However, Mori doesn’t worry much about that.

Our medical staff has not yet had a chance to evaluate it, but our understanding is that its time has been measured back and I do not want to give a timeline, but it is not long.

“He had an issue where he chose to have surgery on it so it would never become an issue again.” “I think his recovery progressed, but once he got back, obviously it would be something that would never bother him again. So we are very optimistic about advancing it medically. “

A big point in all of this is that the Sixers can now roll a unit of guys that can provide good play on both ends of the floor. Philadelphia will prove to be a bit more.

“I think what Coach Rivers and Coach (Dan) Burke can do right now are put five strong playoff tested guys who can play both ends on the floor at the same time if they want to in crunch time.” “We’re very excited about it.”
