The 14-year-old and dad Larry Birkhead travels to Anna’s hometown, showing her a memoir before she waits “a long time” to see him.
Danielle Birkhead was only five months old when her mother, the late Anna Nicole Smith, died of an accidental drug overdose. And now, 14 years later, the teenager is exploring her mother’s past with her father Larry Birkhead next to her for a new “20/20” special.
Broadcast on Friday, ahead of the 14th anniversary of her death, the new special will introduce Daniel to visit “the most influential places in Anna Nicole’s life for the first time with her father,” including a trip to her childhood home in Maxia, Texas. According to a press release, they “will be able to meet her high school friend and she will see those places many times before she becomes famous.”
The trip will also take her to Los Angeles, where the two will “visit many emotional places” and see Danielin, “for the first time, some reminiscences of Anna Nicole’s life and career, dragged into a storage locker following her death.”
A special preview clip showing Larry digging into a storage locker and finding a number of items from Anna’s past, including a wedding dress, old clothes worn on accompanying dates, and a photo album.
“Danielle has no idea he’s going to see these things. All of this is amazing,” Lar wrote in the footage in Rage. “She has a big heart like her mom and I think she can appreciate these things.”
“This is the stuff you’ve had for a long time,” she says, while reacting to the shock.
“Anna should be remembered as a bigger figure than a figure of life who was truly a caring, beautiful woman who loved her fans and loved her family,” he added in the footage.

In the special trailer, Danielle, one of Anna’s childhood friends, is told that she looks like a mom “just like her.”
“Danilin is now a teenager and she doesn’t really know much about her mom,” L.Re said in the footage. “As the father of the one whose mother died, I thought, why not visit Anna’s early days. Honestly, I didn’t know much about Anna, her early years.”
“To this day, Howard has been endorsed,” Birkhead said [as if] That same loyalty to Anna is now handed over to me and Danielle. “
“When you talk about Anna Nicole and you talk about where she came from … you talk about court battles,” he also told ABC News. “In the meantime, there were a lot of happy moments for her. There were a lot of lions before there were a lot of ows.”

According to ABC, the special “will also report on the distortion between Anna Nicole who was in the discussion area and was in private as Vicky Lynn Smith, her rise to fame, life in the limelight, her tragic death in Florida and unanswered. Questions about her death.”
Anna Nicole died in 2007 at the age of 39 after an accidental drug overdose. Since the court battle over Danilin’s custody, Larry has done a great job of keeping his daughter’s life private – conducting occasional interviews and making annual appearances at the Kentucky Derby.
The “20/20” special airs on ABC on Friday night.
