Daniel Cormier has stated several times that UFC 252 would be his last mixed martial arts camp. While many debates as such would prove true as his trilogy with Stipe Miocic approached, ‘DC’ doubled on that vow after a disappointing loss on Saturday night.
“It just sucks, at the losing end of two great fights and trilogies – it’s a very sad position to be in,” Cormier told Joe Rogan in a post-fight interview. ‘But I’ll handle it, because I’ve handled things in the past. I’m not interested in fighting for anything other than titles, and I do not imagine there will be a title in the future. That that will be it for me. I’ve had a long run. It has been great. I just fought my last fight for a championship in heavyweight, and it was a very good fight. It’s what it is. ”
Cormier was badly hampered by an eye poop that happened in the third round, so much so that the American Kickboxing Academy product could not be seen for the rest of the bolt from his left eye. According to a report from ESPN, Cormier suffered a tornado as a result of the crash and was not discharged from the hospital Saturday. Surgery is probably not necessary.
“I mean, look into my eye,” Cormier said. ‘I could not even see the rest of the fight. I can see nothing from my left eye. It’s black. It’s what it is. It does not matter. I told Marc
[Goddard] he grabbed me, but he said he thought it was a punch. But after the fight, he said, ‘Yeah, I saw it on the replay. ‘I just can not see from my left eye. However, it does not matter. Whatever. It’s what it is. ”

gave an apology for missing the violation. Cormier accidentally grabs Miocic earlier in the bolt, which the veteran official did. And of course, Miocic fell victim to eyeballs in her rematch that forced him to undergo surgery and undergo a lengthy recovery process prior to UFC 252.
UFC President Dana White is of the opinion that the eyeball should be removed from Miocic’s completion, especially considering that there was a previous foul courtesy of Cormier.
‘You can’t look at the eyeball and take that away. “There were two eye pokers – they were both stabbed in the eye, and that eye hurt before the poke,” White told a news conference after the fight. ‘We have a big group text going on, and I was,’ There’s something wrong with Cormier’s eye, ‘and then he was caught. That did not help, but they were both poked – you can not use that as an excuse. ‘I think his eye hurt before the poke and the poke absolutely did not help. Cormier could not implement his wrestling as much as he might have liked, as he got his only takedown of the fight in the opening dance. Beyond that, it was often Miocic who dictated the action in the neighborhood against the gate.
