“Dancing with the Stars” host Tyra Banks suffered a major setback on Monday night’s show, although she claimed it was the control room’s fault.
During the two-hour live broadcast, the 46-year-old Banks falsely announced that “cheer” coach Monica Aldama and her teammate Val Chamerkovsky were safe when they were in the bottom two.
Eventually, the former “America’s Next Top Model” host apologized for the confusion and doubled down with her apology on social media after the show.

‘Dance with the Stars’ Tyra Banks made a mistake during Monday night’s broadcast when she falsely announced that when it was safer than the two, in fact, at the bottom.

Banks’ mistake came when she announced that competitors H’s Hatche and Keo Motsep, and Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroid, were in the bottom two, with Crishel Stoys and Gleb Savchenko on stage, leaving them confused as to whether they were safe.
Banks ended up recalling Aldama, 48, and Chemerkowski, 34, back on stage.

Aldama and Chemerkowski were eventually rescued from the judges.
Banks later took to Twitter and wrote, “Wavesers. Live TV. Wrong name on cards. Dealing with moments like this is challenging. But we power through. “
Many viewers, including professional dancer Chamerkovsky, compared Steve Harvey’s infamous tragedy at the 2015 Miss Universe Bridget, to Banks’ mistake when he announced the wrong winner.

Banks replaced longtime hosts Tom Bergern and Erin Andrews for 29 seasons. After Monday’s episode, viewers were vying to slam the new host and return to Bergen and Andrews.
“Bring them back !!!! Tom @Tom_Burger wouldn’t have gone bad !!!!!! #DWTS,” one fan tweeted, adding that Banks “pulled Steve Harvey.”
Another wrote, “If Tyra hadn’t talked so much, she wouldn’t have needed to participate in the Elimination. #DWTS “

Hatche, 51, and Motsap, 30, were eventually sent home at the end of the episode.
