‘Those years would not have been so special without my beloved host Tom Bergeron, the talented dancers and the resourceful judges.

“I will always appreciate my days on set, even if I wasn’t the best walking in heels.”

Andrews began co-hosting in 2014 for Season 18, following the departure of Brooke Burke-Charvet.

This occurred a day after Emmy-winning host Bergeron tweeted that the show would “go on without him” on Monday afternoon.

ABC later confirmed in a statement that not only was Bergeron gone, but his co-host Andrews would not be returning as well.

A representative for television personality said in a statement Tuesday that the move was called from the network.

Bergeron’s representative said: ‘ABC chose not to choose Tom’s option. In the fine tradition of Hollywood cliches, they are “going in a different direction.”

In his tweet, the 65-year-old television personality revealed that he only recently learned of his dismissal.

“I just reported that @DancingABC will continue without me,” he wrote. ‘It has been an incredible 15 years and the most unexpected gift of my career.

I am grateful for that and for the friendships of a lifetime. With that said, what am I supposed to do with all these glitter masks? joked.

Bergeron didn’t stay long to say more, although when a fan asked him if he would ‘finally’ become a contestant now, he replied, ‘Um … no.’

ABC and BBC Studios confirmed that he and co-host Erin Andrews would not be returning for next season 29 in a statement.

‘Tom Bergeron will always be part of the Dancing With The Stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he leaves the program with our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for his characteristic wit and charm that helped make this program a success.

‘Erin won’t be back either, and we appreciate everything she brought to the ballroom. Fans have supported her since she originally competed as a contestant in 2010, and her sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show. ”

Before starting the competition in 2005, Bergeron assumed the position of presenter of the funniest home videos in the United States since 2001, which he simultaneously presented until 2015, when Alfonso Ribeiro took over.

Before that, he hosted the Hollywood Squares from 1998–2004, earning him a Daytime Emmy in 2000.

Bergeron publicly disagreed with DWTS producers before its final season about the cast of former President Donald Trump’s press secretary and chief communications officer, Sean Spicer.

Spicer had come under fire for a series of provably false statements made during his tenure, mainly when he claimed that the inaugural 2017 crowds were the largest in history, despite photographic evidence to the contrary.

‘A few months ago, during a lunch with the new DTWS executive producer, I offered suggestions for season 28. Chief among them was my hope that DTWS, on its return from an unprecedented hiatus for a year, would be a joyous respite. of our “exhausting political climate and free from inevitably divisive reservations of any party affiliation,” Bergeron tweeted. “I left that lunch convinced that we were in agreement.”

‘Later (and quite obviously), the decision was made to, as we often say in Hollywood,’ go in a different direction … We can all agree to disagree. As we do now, but ultimately it is your calling. I will let you answer any other questions about those decisions.

Dancing With The Stars is expected to return in the fall for season 29, though how the show will work safely is unclear, and no new host has been announced.
