Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden “hit a home game in the bottom of the ninth” with his speech at the Virtual Democratic National Convention in Wilmington, Del., On Thursday night, according to “The Daily Briefing” host Dana Perino.
“He had pace, rhythm, energy, emotion and delivery,” said the former White House press secretary. “I think when he looks back, he could say that it’s probably the best speech of his life.
“He just took the moment.”
Perino admitted, however, that Biden’s speech appeared to be undermined by “a little incoherence” on policy.

“In a three-cent sentence, he said he would create millions of jobs through green investment by repeating the Trump tax cuts,” she said. “If you plead that, I’m not exactly sure how that works.
“But this was a speech that was 80% heartfelt and 20% policy-oriented.”
Perino’s former White House colleague Karl Rove largely agreed with her impressions, saying Biden had given a “very good” speech.

“He had a balancing act here last night,” Rove told Biden. “He tried to balance two different things. One was … portraying himself as a unifier who would bring the country together. He did that very effectively and if I were a Republican strategist in the Trump campaign, I would. worry about how long and how effectively he carries that theme forward, because that’s the thing that will keep the swinging voters in his camp, when they are in his camp, or bring them to him. “
However, Rove noted that there was no mention of China in Biden’s remarks, nor was there any mention of the rise of violence in the cities of America.
“I look back. I found four words in which he once condemned violence, but other than that, they kept quiet about it.”
