Dan Mullen on the position of Cain Pitts, Sam Pitman facing Barry Sam Dum

The number could be without Star Tight and Kyle Pitts when Florida Florida (-1-1) hosts Arkansas (-3–3) on Saturday.

Pitts is questionable for the game after enduring a tough fight against Georgia, after getting a goal from safety Luis Cine in the second quarter. The Pitts have 24 catches for 414 yards and set a single-season school record for a touchdown reception by a tight end (8) against the Bulldogs.

He is one of three gators on the injury report this week.

UFL coach Dan Mullen said Monday that Kyle will be skeptical this week, provocative, so he will be skeptical for the game. “Jeremiah Moon went out with a foot injury, I think he would be suspicious to play for us this week, and then Stuart Reese would also be questionable, he had a shoulder issue.”

Two plays after Pitts left the game, Redshirt Junior Tight and Camor Gamley caught a 24-yard touchdown – the first of his career. He finished with three catches for 51 yards, and sophomore Keon Sipper also made a 39-yard reception.

“Kyle is a great player. They know it. We feature it. You see, it goes out and is a great game in Camor. Zip has a catch and a long period after that, he blocked a great job. They were run really well on the field.

“For me, those guys just got to come and we’ll run our offense. They have a chance to make a play, they have a chance to show what they can do on the field. Every year you have that next mindset.”

The UF still has Brenton Cox Jr. and Chris Bogle with Moon out at BUCK, while Josh Bruin made Reggie the starting right guard against the UGA. Mullen liked what he saw from that fresh lineman who was previously committed to the Bulldogs.

“I think it was huge,” Mullen said of Brown’s game. “He is a person who has taken advantage of this opportunity this year due to injuries and some other things to prepare himself properly.

“He is a very intelligent person, has come up with a great work ethic; Has taken advantage of the opportunity to be out on the field. He was ready to play in the game when his number came up. ”

Mullen on Sam Pitman

Arkansas announced Monday that first-year coach Sam Pitman has tested positive for COVID-19.

He is asymptomatic and lonely at home, but will not be able to coach against Florida. Mullen, who contracted the virus last month, began his press conference with prayers for Pitman.

“Going through it, I hope it has minor features like mine,” Mullen said. “It simply came to our notice then. I know a lot of people have had a hard time dealing with it, and then naturally it’s serious for a lot of people and families out there. So, our prayers with him and I hope he recovers quickly. ”

Pitman, Georgia’s former offensive line coach, is the SEC coach of the year for his replacement at Arkansas. He has inherited a 2-10 Razorbacks team and has a 3-3 lead this season, including a 21-14 victory over Mississippi State, which ended a 20-game SEC defeat.

“He clearly knows how to win. He’s got them playing hard, believing, ”Mullen said of Pitman.“ I think he came in and did a great job putting the boys in the position of what they do well. One of the keys builds a winning mindset. As you can see this year, he is playing with a winning mindset and has been really successful. ”

“They are some really good defensive guys. They play for their secondary power and they are one of the nation’s top interception teams. They are physical, good tacklers. The linebackers are two excellent players. Excellent, excellent football players. And then they have a defensive lineman interrupted on the defensive side of the ball. They fit the offense. I know they are going to run the ball well. And, apparently, Felipe [Franks] The crime is going very well. “

Mullen on Belle Dom Dum

Arkansas defensive coordinator Barry Odum will take over as interim coach on Saturday.

Odom spent four seasons as a Missouri coach before his shooting last year. He led the Tigers to an 8-5 record in 2018, beating Mullen and No. 13 Gators 38-17 on their way home.

“I know Barry really well. Berry has clearly been the head coach of the league, understands the league, “said Mullen. “Good coaches, good motivation. Tough guy. He’s not going to walk on a stage that would seem awkward or different to him. I can guarantee it.

“I know that as a professional Barry will also deliver the message that Sam gives. They won’t change the personality of the team if Barry leaves when they are in charge of the game. Sam is already bound here and they are not changing the mindset about what the program is about. “

Pitman’s positive test leaves the possibility of an outbreak on the Razorbacks football team. Mullen said no contingency plans have yet been made with Arkansas regarding the game.

“No, not at all,” Mullen said. “You can definitely hope for Arkansas that they are able to get through it. That’s kind of how the year is right now. So, hopefully it’s a very different deal for him and his team. We went through it. All this is a really difficult task for the team.

“Hopefully they can get through it. If not, we tried to mess with some of the things around us. I’m sure they’ll let us know here very soon. We’ll go out and play what we have to play. ”
