Dan Harmon teases clone Beth, but don’t wait long until season 6

the Rick and Morty The season 4 finale made fans scream when Beth’s clone was confirmed (Sarah Chalke). Viewers had been speculating on the possibilities since the theory emerged in the third season. So, as expected, the reward at the end of the fourth season was satisfactory. But still, co-creator Dan Harmon recently hinted that fans may not get many episodes of Clone Beth on Rick and Morty Season 5

In Rick and Morty Season 3, Rick (Justin Roiland) offered to clone Beth. This would allow one of the Beths to explore the galaxies. Meanwhile, the other would stay home with the family. The decision remained in the air until the end of the fourth season titled “Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri”.

In the episode, Space Beth and Home Beth reunited with Rick. Both daughters were told that they were the real Beths. However, Rick lied. And it turned out that he didn’t even know the truth.

When Rick told Beth that he could clone her in Season 3, she asked him to make the call. In the end, Rick made the cowardly no choice. He made an exact replica of his daughter and mixed them. It also erased his memory. So no one knows which Beth is the true clone. But now Rick realizes he’s a terrible father.

Following the Rick and Morty Season 4 finale, fans wondered which Beth was real and which Beth was the clone. But during the clip “Inside the Episode” for “Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri,” Harmon noted that the answer doesn’t matter.

“Isn’t that the most important fact that they both exist and the reason that they both exist?” he said at the time.

Then during the Rick and Morty On the Adult Swim panel With July 24, Harmon confirmed that no one knows Clone Beth’s identity, not even the writers.

“I think it’s safe to say we don’t know as we work on the narrative that Rick doesn’t know,” said Harmon.

The co-creator then explained what the Clone Beth reveal means to Rick’s character.

“It’s also a very ancient Greek thing where Zeus is atoning for Athena and saying, ‘This is how I believe. I believe through abuse. I have now created two women who have been forked because of my aggressive refusal to commit to anything, ‘”Harmon said.

He added: “And if that is not where the money stops and I do not accept it now, what happens? Is there an infinite story of Beth happening?

Dan Harmon says ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 5 ruins it when it comes to tackling Clone Beth

Clearly, determining Clone Beth doesn’t matter Rick and Morty. However, Harmon admitted that Morty and Summer (Spencer Grammer) were originally meant to care more about the identity of their true mother.

“I’ll confess, I don’t think Summer and Morty are okay with [Beth’s clone]Harmon said during Adult Swim Con. “I think a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl would say, ‘Wait, who’s my mom? Stop the show and tell me! But we had to pinch him.’

Of course, fans will just have to wait and see how the family really handles the big reveal during Rick and Morty Season 5. That said, Harmon hinted that Clone Beth might not get much arc next season. But he promised something great for the sixth season.

“In the meantime, you have this cool thing, which is like, well, everyone has that crazy aunt who comes from Nevada,” said Harmon. “If memory doesn’t work, we screw it up in terms of tackling it in season five.” But, OMG, in Season 6 there are some Clone Beth fireworks.

Rick and Morty Season 5 may not approach Clone Beth as thoroughly as some fans would like. Although there is still a lot to wait to advance, especially since the team seems to be ahead of schedule. And hopefully, fans won’t have to endure a long drought between seasons. So stay tuned.

“I’m very excited about some of the things from season 5,” said Harmon. “Basically we have finished writing it. The only exception is that I join these Zoom editing sessions where we are about to end the end of the fifth season. But we have all these writers on the script for the sixth season. “
