Dallas County reports 3 coronavirus-related deaths; 7-Day Average Falls Again – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth


Dallas County health officials on Sunday reported three more coronavirus-related deaths and 156 new, confirmed cases of Covid-19.

The three deaths reported Sunday by Dallas County Health and Human Services include:

  • A man in his 50s who was a resident of a long-term care facility in the city of Dallas. He died in convenience.
  • A woman in her 50s, a resident of Dallas. She was critically ill in an area hospital and had a high-risk health condition.
  • A man in his 90s who lived in a long-term care facility in the city of Garland. He died at the facility and had a high-risk health condition.

Of the 156 new cases reported Sunday, 28 came from the Texas Department of State health services electronic laboratory reporting system, and 17 were aged, including two in April, four in May, nine in July and two in August.

The county’s seven-day average dropped to 215 new cases, the lowest since June 1.

According to the DCHHS, the county recorded 104 confirmed and probable cases among older children at the school last week. In the past two weeks, authorities have found 33 cases involving several youth hockey teams in North Texas.

The DCHHSA said a 29-year-old coach in a nearby county was found to have Covid-19 when he died last week.

The county has now reported 75,208 cases of the virus since testing began in March. An estimated 66,016 by the state by Saturday. There have been 8૨28 active cases, estimated in Dallas County, despite the recovery of the reported. Dr. Virus, director of Las County Health and Human Services.
