The Dallas County Health Department is reporting 11 more deaths and 1,181 additional cases of Covid-19 on Friday.
Of the 1,181 cases reported Friday, Dallas County Health reported 967 cases from the Texas DSHS backlog from April, 139 to 399, June to 399, July to 301, August to 21, and 83 earlier this month.
The 11 new deaths reported by the county include:
- D40 A 40-year-old man from Las City. He was critically ill at a hospital in the area and had a high-risk health condition.
- D50 A 50-year-old man from Las City. She was critically ill at the hospital in the area and was at high risk for her health.
- D50 A 50-year-old man from Las City. He was critically ill at the hospital hospital in the area and had a high-risk health condition.
- A man in his 60s who was a resident of the city of Dallas. He was critically ill at the hospital hospital in the area and had a high-risk health condition.

- A woman in her 90s, a resident of Dallas. Her area ended up in the hospital’s emergency room and she had a high-risk health condition.
- A woman in her 90s, a resident of Desoto City. Her area ended up in the hospital’s emergency room and she had a high-risk health condition.
Dallas County health officials said there were 296 temporary 7-day daily new confirmations and potential cases for CDC Week 38, an increase from the previous daily average of 258 for CDC Week 37. The percentage of respiratory samples tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 also increased and remains high, presenting 11.9% of patients with disease in field hospitals, testing positive at week 38.
During CDC week 38 (weeks ending 9/19/2020), a provisional 225 confirmed and potentially covid-19 cases were diagnosed in school-age children (5 to 17 years), a Increase From last week for this age group. The percentage of young adult cases between the ages of 18 and 22 rose to 14% in September.
The county has now accumulated 80,605 cases of the virus since testing began in March. As of Friday, there were an estimated 375 active cases in Dallas County, despite a statewide recovery of 2.34.
