Cyberpunk 2077 gets 43GB pre-launch patch – and there seems to be another update

Cyberpunk 2077 has probably received a 43GB pre-launch launch patch on Xbox, and according to a tweet from CD Project Red employee, one more update may be available at launch time. Explicit Retailer Error – Posted a tweet showing an assumption 43.5 GB patch for Cyberpunk 2077, A big pre-launch update. However, it will not be the only patch that this game receives.

CD Project Red Fabian replied to DreamcastguWith the Day-One update coming around the launch on December 10, presumably the 43G patch points to a ‘Day Zero’ update, saying it’s not a given update for the launch.

It’s an update but – an interesting twist – not an update that we’ll have for launch.

It looks like the contents of the GB 43GB patch will be rotated into your initial download / install game, instead of seeing you downloading two different updates. The game currently weighs 70 GB on the PC, although it’s not an updated version size, it’s not clear.

With the platform the next day, the preload of the game is now live on GOG, so if you want to get everything ready for launch you download early.
