Cuomo says NY Futures is considering plans to allow 6,700 fans to test, play contact with bill tracking on game play.

ALBANY, NY – New York officials are considering a plan drawn up by the Buffalo Bills that could allow 6,700 fans in the team’s upcoming home playoff game.

Fans will be tested for the Covid-19 before the game and the mask is needed. Anyone wearing a mask will be removed from the stadium.

Contact tracing will be done after the game to determine how and why the game spreads coronavirus, Kuomo said.

Fans will be evacuated once inside the stadium and some sections will be closed. Ushers will be present in each section.

Bill Stadium typically has a capacity of over 71,000.

Plans for the playoff game are not yet final and state officials are still discussing the bills.

“It’s never been done before and how to do it, the devil is often in the details,” Cuomo said during a press conference in Albany. “We want to do that.”

Billo won the team’s first AFC East Division title in 25 years over the weekend. The team is 11-3 and has been one of the top teams in the NFL all season.

The team’s record is good enough to guarantee home play play at Bill Stadium. It will be the first home playoff game for the Bills since 1997.

If Bill wins his last two games, no AFC team will be able to nominate him. 2 seeds in the playoffs, which will guarantee two home playoff games.

Cuomo has been talking for months about the potential of fans in Bill’s games. But, as the discussions became more serious, the Covid case began immediately in western New York and the rest of the state.

Cuomo said the plan for fans of the game could serve as a model for how the state could resume other major events. It is possible that a combination of testing and vaccination will allow certain events to resume and some locations that are closed for reopening.

The stadium itself is a relatively controlled environment and the team can manage how fans enter and exit, said state health commissioner Dr. Said Robert Mujica, the state budget director working on the bill proposal with Howard Zucker.

The biggest concern is the events that may pop up around the game, such as the Telangana parties, Zucker said. The rest of the big question is how to handle it.

NFL playoffs begin in January. 9. The date for the Bill Home game is not yet set.
