On Monday, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo’s mandatory mask order went into effect, requiring all residents over the age of 10 to cover their faces inside businesses.
Gov. Greg Abbott ordered all bars closed and reduced restaurant capacity to 50 percent in Texas on Friday after the state experienced a record 3 days in a row of COVID-19 cases.
The Harris County Fire Marshal said his complaint hotline and website form received 580 complaints due to overcrowding and / or opening businesses when they shouldn’t, but appointments have not yet been issued.
ABC13 spoke to one of the club’s owners. The owner said that the disco was opened because they are registered as a restaurant.
