Critics reportedly tease Hillary Clinton’s ‘alternative history’ television series in development for Hulu

A new television series that is reportedly being developed about an “alternative story” of Hillary Clinton was widely viewed on social media.

Variety reported Wednesday that Hulu opted for the rights to Curtis Sittenfeld’s 2020 novel “Rodham,” which describes what Hillary Rodham’s life would have been like had she not married the then-future Governor of Arkansas and President Bill Clinton.

This follows Hulu’s “Hillary” docusery, which premiered on the streaming service earlier this year.

Sarah Treem, the former producer of “The Affair” and “House of Cards,” is in charge of writing and producing the series with Sittenfeld and “The Handmaid’s Tale” producer Warren Littlefield.

The “alternative story” television series did not receive the warmest reception on Twitter.

“Who asked for this?” Progressive journalist Walker Bragman tweeted.

“I’m pretty sure Tales From the Crypt has already become a television show,” wrote Mediaite journalist Charlie Nash.

“Spoiler: James Comey is still fired,” conservative commentator Stephen Miller jokingly predicted.

“Intended to be a cult classic, to the extent that ‘cult’ is taken literally,” wrote The Grayzone journalist Aaron Maté.
