Springfield, Mo. (KY3) –
CoxHealth is mourning the loss of an employee at the Branson Clinic who died from Covid-19.
Mary served as an assistant at the Brumbug Medical Clinic. She was 40 years old.
In a statement to KY3 News, CoxHealth reported that it did not know the source of the infection with certainty. It is possible that she may have been infected with the virus when she was not related to COVID-19 while caring for a patient undergoing regular clinic care. The patient needed to be unmasked for a short time during treatment, and tested positive for Covid-19 after a visit to the clinic. It is also possible that he acquired it in the community as the prevalence in and around Ten County has been greater.

Please see the following message from CoxHealth President and CEO Steve Edwards about a tragic incident in the CoxHealth family:
I’m sorry to share that a CoxHealth employee has passed COVID-19.
Mary Brambug was a medical assistant at one of our clinics in the Branson area, and she was only 40 years old. She served our patients with much pain, compassion and respect, prioritizing the health and safety of other patients.
We share this to ensure transparency in our CoxHealth family and community, but our information is limited to respecting the privacy of Mary and her family.
We do not know the source of the infection with certainty.
We deeply mourn the loss of our partner and friend, and offer our love and support to his family and loved ones. The CoxHealth Foundation has set up a scholarship and support fund for Mary’s daughter, and anyone wishing to contribute should contact Lisa Alexander.
This is a good time in our family at CoxHealth, and this loss is one of our greatest fears. We pray that it reminds our community of the seriousness of this disease.
Please stay away physically, honor this damage by diligently masking and washing your hands. If you do not do these things to protect yourself, please do so to protect those around you. Please be safe, and think about others.
