For the first time in Dak Prescott’s NFL career, he will play for another head coach. Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys have transitioned from Jason Garrett to a new path under former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy. That set a whole new environment for the Cowboys, which presented Prescott with a challenging challenge for the 2020 season.

The Cowboys entered the 2019 season with the hopes of building up their playoff build.
Dallas started the year by winning its first three games, but things slowly moved south. Despite that, they held control of the NFC East almost all year and had the chance to climb a post-season run late in the season. All that required the motion to go in a different direction with head coach.
The Cowboys chose to hire Mike McCarthy to help bring the franchise back to prominence. During his nearly 13-year tenure at Green Bay, he held a record of 135-85-2 while the team reached the playoffs nine times and a Super Bowl win. McCarthy may have gotten his fair share of criticism with the Packers, but he has the proven track record that the Cowboys do not have a head coach.
All of which has led to a major transition period for Dallas with Dak Prescott having to make one massive change ahead of the 2020 season.

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Cowboys will have another head coach in place, not to mention Jason Garrett.
With that brings a whole new playbook and philosophy to the organization under new head coach Mike McCarthy. In light of this, McCarthy has stated that the most important adaptation of Prescott this offseason is the new language learned for the plays. (H / T Dallas Morning News)
“I’m going to say this,” McCarthy said. “I think Dak has done a great job with the time away and actually the whole group, the quarterback group, with the addition of Andy Dalton.
“The biggest adjustment for Dak is the language, which has been an adjustment for all of us. But he has looked very good in the throwing segments of the strength and conditioning phase where we are at the moment.
“I’m very happy with where he is and very impressed.”
The Cowboys mostly bring back the same offensive roster from last year with the addition of promising rookie wideout CeeDee Lamb. That marks an important adjustment period for everyone, but most importantly, Prescott, because he will be the focal point. Dallas hopes the offensive arrangements McCarthy brings will move the team to greater heights.
Prescott’s understanding of the crime will be essential to get the Cowboys the most out of their offensive talent by 2020 and beyond.
Prove it on the field

Over the last several years, there has been a call for the Cowboys to make a change in head coaching due to the continuing lack of consistent success.
Jerry Jones finally pulled the trigger when Garrett was released and put in a new direction. McCarthy experienced a lot of success with the Packers teaming up with Aaron Rodgers. The hope is that it can translate to seeing Prescott take his game to the next level in a more ongoing friendly offensive in the 2020 season.
The Cowboys have the talent to win the NFC East and possibly make a deep run in the playoffs. Dallas has yet to make a significant push in the mail season with Prescott. The franchise has reached the division round in both playoff appearances. Many different factors weigh on Prescott, but it’s an opportunity to finally break through and bring the Cowboys back to prominence as a Super Bowl-caliber franchise.
