Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott sued for alleged dog attack on Frisco home

A pool attendant filed a civil lawsuit against Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott seeking financial compensation after she said Elliott’s three dogs attacked her and caused serious bodily harm during a visit to her home. of Frisco in March, TMZ first reported on Friday.

Frank Salzano, Elliott’s attorney, acknowledged the complaint in an email, but said his client did not commit any crime in the alleged March 11 meeting.

“Ezekiel was in no way negligent in relation to the alleged incident and intends [to] vigorously defend the lawsuit, ”said Salzano in a statement.

Salzano and Elliott’s agent Rocky Arceneaux declined to comment further for the Dallas Morning News when it arrived, citing the pending status of the case.

TMZ referenced court documents in reporting the pool cleaner’s claims. Among them, the woman says Elliott’s rottweiler “ambushed” her, dragging her by the arm before her other two dogs, both bulldogs, attacked her legs. The account includes that she was hospitalized for her injuries that same day and required surgery on her forearm two weeks later.

The woman seeks an amount greater than $ 200,000 but less than $ 1 million in damages, by TMZ.

“Our animal services investigated it,” said Grant Cottingham, a police officer and spokesman for the Frisco police. “They investigated it. No criminal charges were filed. “

The alleged incident occurred the same day that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Elliott is one of multiple Cowboys players who have since tested positive for the coronavirus. On Wednesday Elliott said he dealt with “cough and a little shortness of breath,” but is recovering well.

This marks the second straight offseason in which a prominent Cowboys player was linked to dog-related legal issues in Frisco. Last February, Field Marshal Dak Prescott was asked to arrange for his dog, an American Staffordshire terrier named Icon, to leave the Frisco city limits after the dog escaped from Prescott’s home, he fought with the neighbor’s dog and reportedly bit the neighbor’s finger when she intervened.

There were also no criminal charges filed against Prescott.
