Covid New York: The state’s enthusiasm for coronavirus numbers continues

NEW YORK – Coronavirus hospital admissions and deaths are on the rise in New York, the government’s Andrew Cuomo said Saturday.

On Friday, 3,77 hospitals were admitted across the state, compared to 10,108, Cuomo said. There were also 42 deaths out of 39 on Thursday, he said.

Cuomo said the state had further increased its up-to-seven-day average from 9.78% to 9.98% as a result of positive results. West New York has the highest positivity rate in the state at 6.53%, according to state statistics.

“We are entering a challenging period of continuous COVID-19 spread across the state,” the Democratic governor said in a statement. “It’s up to you, your neighborhood and your community to slow down the spread.”
