Covid-19 Reinfection Tracker – BNO News


The following table shows confirmed cases of COVID-19 reinstatement. The first confirmed case of re-infection was reported in Hong Kong on August 24, followed by reports of six people. Previously suspected cases of re-occurrence could not be confirmed due to lack of data.

SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can continue to test positive for several months without being sick or infected. Refraction is confirmed when testing shows that the genetic makeup of each virus differs to a degree that cannot be explained by in-vivo evolution.

Definitions

  • Reported: The month in which the rescheduling is publicly reported. Due to the amount of research needed to confirm the infection, the actual case may come weeks or months in advance.
  • Interval: If available, the number of days between recovery from the first case and the onset of symptoms from the second case. If not available, number of days between positive tests.

Timeline

28 August

  • The first case in the United States. A 25-year-old man in Reno, Nevada tested positive for coronavirus in April and suffered mild symptoms. He tested negative on May 9 and continued to feel well until May 28, after which he developed severe symptoms. When he was admitted to the hospital on June 5 he tested positive for coronavirus again, due to privacy laws, the research team was unable to make any comment about the patient’s current condition. 26 August

  • Three more cases in the Netherlands. There is a nursing home resident who has had another infection 2 months later. The other two cases are from Tilberg. In the first case, he suffered two mild symptoms in his 80s, with an interval of about 21 days. Another patient, a 60-year-old man, had mild symptoms during the first infection, but recovered quickly. The man returned several days later because he was suffering from respiratory failure and tested positive for coronavirus again.   • The first case of reorganization in Belgium. A woman in her 50s tested positive for coronavirus in the second week of March, and again in June. The details about his symptoms are unknown. The woman has recovered. (Source)
  • The University of Hong Kong has registered the first proven case of Covid-19 recovery in a 33-year-old man. During the first episode, she suffers from cough and sputum, sore throat, fever and headache for three days. He tested positive on March 26, 2020, and was discharged from the hospital on April 14. Months later, on the 15th of August, the U.K. The patient tested positive again after returning to Hong Kong from Spain. He was hospitalized, but remained asymptomatic. (Source)
