“People reported to local Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) staff last month that people testified to others who attended a party where COVID 19 positive people were present. This information was reported from the ADPH Center for the Preparation of Emergencies (CEP) and local authorities ADPH cannot verify whether one or more parties actually occurred, that people were present in parts that had COVID 19, or that people were violating the quarantine at home. COVID 19 has been epidemiologically linked to one or more parties, however, ADPH Safer at Home Order, as amended on June 30, 2020, continues to include language describing Alabama domestic quarantine. (See language and link below.) Violation of the health order is a misdemeanor and the fines for each violation can be up to $ 500. Effective immediately, anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, other than institutionalized persons, will be quarantined at their place of residence for a period of 14 days or another period of time as indicated by the State Health Officer or your designee, after receiving positive test results.
