In his “State of the County” address, held virtually on Thursday, he began by discussing the rise of positive cases in the county and across the country.

The question on many people’s minds is whether that means another shutdown for Harris County.
“We got it under control once and for all,” Hidalgo said. “Already lost enough lives. He sets himself up for more economic pain, death and illness. Now we inevitably know that another pull is needed. He’s coming soon, I’m sure.”
This week, Texas became the first state in the country to reach 10 million reported cases. The positivity rate in the Houston area is slowly returning, and with the holidays coming up and more people gathering, it couldn’t have come at a worse time.
We have surpassed 1 million # COVID-19 Case in Texas. This happens when you run a public health policy of denial and politics. Not only because of this tragic tendency, but also because we are stuck in a vicious cycle of willful thinking and inconsistent resumption.

There is a way to get # Covid Is under control and sustainable is the new normal, but it needs serious and consistent leadership. As long as people with the power to take action reduce the virus and fail to formulate aggressive policies, we will fail to get out of this.

Complete economic recovery from COVID19 can only be achieved by closing long-term gaps in access to technology and preparing workers for the future. Congratulations to Pamela Chan, W / Experience to someone who will serve as the first director of our financial equity and opportunities!

Hidalgo said they have found several hundred people on the county’s contact tracing team who continue to use the threat level system, but enough people are heeding warnings. As the number is growing rapidly, she said it has become inevitable that another pull-back is necessary and could come soon. Local health officials have also seen this happen in the near future.
“I imagine that, at some point, public officials will start tapping the brakes and trying to slow down the spread,” said Dr. James McDavit of Clinical Affairs at Boiler College of Medicine. Said. “I don’t think it will be a switch. I think with a social goal and a lot less economic disruption it will be more targeted and timely.”
Hidalgo, meanwhile, said this time is not going to weaken and encourages everyone to stay on course and be more aware of wearing a face mask, safe social distance and practicing proper hygiene.
County state and federal officials are working together to arrange vaccinations and treatment once they become available.
