COVID-19: Here’s how Los Angeles County can get off the watch list

LOS ANGELES (KABC) – On Friday, Los Angeles County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer spoke with abc7.com in an exclusive interview. She says the province is working to get off the state’s watch list.

“We need to be below 100 cases per 100,000 people. We’re now at 217 per 100,000 people. That’s the only metric right now that we do not meet in terms of what the state has set its thresholds for to be able to demonstrate you have lower rates of community transmission. , “said Dr. Ferrer.

Dr. Ferrer says Los Angeles County spikes looked after Memorial Day, another spike after the Fourth of July, and protests. She worries that infections could jump if people are not careful during the workday weekend.

“There are no meetings. There are no events and there are no meetings that are allowed and that will not change for Labor Day weekend, so I want to remind you of the order of the health officer, both here in the province and in the whole state, bans these activities, and we would ask people to be satisfied. You know, this is your chance to save other people’s lives. I mean, that’s really what we’re asking you to do. to do, “said Dr. Ferrer.

According to officials, a fax could be available at the end of the year, and possibly have order by next year.

Orange County could be removed from the coronavirus watchlist as soon as Saturday
