Covid-19 ‘eats by it’: A healthy teenager dies after family

A healthy high school senior in Chicago contracted Covid-19 just before Christmas – and he died of the virus, “his family says.

“She called me crying, you know, ‘Mommy, I’m missing Christmas.’ And I had to reassure him that it was just one day of the calendar, and when he got home he would say ‘We’ll have Christmas with you.’ Unfortunately it wasn’t [leave the hospital]Deborah Cementle, the sad mother of Sarah Cementel, told the local ABC-TV affiliate.

Mom said of the coronavirus, “It literally just eats through it.” “And no parent should let their child go through that.”

Deborah said she had no health problems when her 18-year-old daughter began having headaches and body aches on December 23rd.

Sarah was so upset that her parents took her to a local hospital – where her condition worsened and she was moved to the University of Chicago Hospital, the ABC said.

The teenager never recovered, dying the day after Christmas.

“I have no words for it. “I can’t believe how fast it’s progressed,” Sarah’s father, Don Cemental, told the outlet.

Deborah said the only consolation for her and her husband was that they were able to stay in their daughter’s bed when she died.

“He said, ‘Mommy, I’ll be fine.’ And that was the last thing, ”said the mother. “So I know he knows, eventually, we’ll all be fine. We’ll miss it, but we’ll be fine. ‘

Still, “I’m thinking I’ll lose some of the real goals that every mother wants to keep with her daughter,” the mom said.
