COVID-19: CDC publishes Thanksgiving guide

Guidelines for Thanksgiving have been issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“Travel increases the likelihood of the virus becoming and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19,” the CDC said. “The best way to protect yourself and others is to stay at home.”

The agency noted that those who must travel should report the risks outlined here.

In addition, parades and other large gatherings are considered high risk.

The CDC also recommends:

  • Have a small meal with your family
  • Preparing traditional family recipes for family and neighbors, especially Covid-1, increases the risk of serious illness and delivers in a way that does not involve contact with others.
  • Virtual dinners and sharing recipes with friends and family
  • Shopping online instead of in person the day after Thanksgiving or the following Monday
  • Sporting sports events, parades and watching movies

Thanksgiving is on Thursday, November 26th.
