Green County, Wiz. – At least seven students from Broadhead High School have tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a news release from the Green County Public Health Department, a group of students gathered over the weekend before school started. Last Friday, at least one high school student tested positive for the virus, prompting the district to complete contact. The district then sent home about 25 students who were considered close contacts.
The district is also able to identify some of the students who attended the gathering and even sent them home, the release said.
Due to the positive tests, the Broadhead School District has decided to move the high school to full virtual education for two weeks, from September 8 to September 18.
Officials said the high school will be cleared Tuesday and Wednesday and no students should report to the building.
The next steps will be discussed at their board meeting on Wednesday.
