Tennessee is one of several states that have seen an increase in coronavirus cases in recent weeks.

The state reported its highest count of new infections on Friday with 1,410.

Almost 600 people have died from the virus in the state, including 10 reported on Friday.

More than 13,100 people have been infected with the virus in Tennessee. State Governor Bill Lee said last week that his administration was closely monitoring the spread of the virus.

On Saturday, the United States recorded more than 42,000 new cases of COVID-19, the largest increase in the pandemic in a single day, according to a Reuters count.

Texas, Florida, and other southern states have to reverse their reopening process as cases continue to rise.
