Corsair reveals a $ 100 Touch Bar-like iCue Nexus to control your PC

Corsair is launching a new peripheral to outsource some of its PC functions. The Corsair iCue Nexus is a long, thin screen that can be placed on the back of your keyboard or on a desktop. It connects to Corsair’s iCue software and allows you to view important statistics about your computer’s operations. But just like a touch bar on Apple MacBooks, you can also add touch buttons to activate certain tasks.

The iCue Nexus will launch soon for $ 100.

As the brand suggests, the Nexus is primarily for interacting with Corsair’s iCue software. The company uses iCue to monitor its peripherals and adjust RGB lighting, for example. And that means you can easily control the Corsair Viruoso’s mute function or the K70’s keyboard lighting from the Nexus. But while it works best if you’re already in the Corsair ecosystem, its usefulness isn’t limited to compatibility with the company’s products.

The iCue Nexus can also double as a Stream Deck for Corsair’s subsidiary Elgato Gaming. You can configure six custom touch buttons to do almost anything. You can open specific applications like Discord, Netflix or Steam, or you can configure multimedia controls. The Nexus also supports macros, which is when you program a series of inputs on a single button. And because the screen is dynamic, you can create unique macros for different games and programs.

But even if it works beyond the Corsair ecosystem, I’m curious to know if it’s worth it for someone who’s on Logitech or Razer.
