Scotland has registered no new deaths from people who tested positive for coronavirus for the fourth consecutive day, Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed.
She said that “the recent figures show without a doubt how much progress Scotland has made in the fight against Covid and that is due to the efforts and sacrifices of everyone across the country.”
The death toll for those who tested positive for Covid-19 remains at 2,482.
Elsewhere, another 19 people who tested positive for coronaviruses died in a hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed hospital deaths in England to 28,672, the NHS England said.
The patients were 60 to 96 years old and all had known underlying health conditions.
In Wales, three other people died after testing positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,507.
An additional death was reported involving Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, the Health Department said, bringing the total there to 551.
Separate UK figures will be released by the UK government later today.
