Some 300 attendees at the wedding, which took place in Washington state earlier this month, were asked to keep it separate after some people who attended the novel then tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
The wedding took place in a “private place” near Ritzville in Nov., Grant County Health District (GCHD) officials said in a news release Monday. At least 17 cases of COVID-19 in Grant County have been linked to the incident, the release said, adding that “more are being added every day.”
However, “Due to the multi-jurisdictional impact of this major incident, the GCHD felt the need to report publicly. Officials said the G.C.H.D. G.C.H.D. Officials say weddings in the state of Washington have been limited to a maximum of 30 people since September, and until Monday, “indoor receptions or similar gatherings together with ceremonies” are banned, GCHD officials said.
“Wedding planners are strongly encouraged to keep a log of the people present at each service and to maintain that log for at least two weeks. If there is an outbreak, this information can be helpful in saving lives, ”the news said.
The news comes after news from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in a report that Maine had used the infamous superspreader wedding reception as a precautionary measure in an effort to advise against large gatherings of coronavirus cases across the country.

The reception, held in August Gust in the rural Maine town of Milinaket, made headlines over the summer as the eruption continued. An investigation into the incident by health officials has revealed that the reduction guidelines jointly recommended have not been followed.
According to the CDC, the reception led to at least 177 cases, seven hospitalizations and seven deaths, and the virus probably spread from marriage to a nursing home and a prison hundreds of miles away. Those who had serious consequences and died from the infection associated with the reception were also not present.
