Coronavirus Live Updates: US Kovid-19 hospitalization hits record

On Sunday, 13 .. More than a million people visited the U.S. Traveled over the airport, the highest number since March and an indication that many people do not heed public health warnings to avoid travel and gatherings with family and friends during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

For seven of the last nine days, more than a million people passed through airport checkpoints daily, according to data from the Transportation Security Administration. The number of passengers traveling to airports around the Christmas holidays mirrors the number of people who traveled immediately before and after Thanksgiving.

Compared to last year, however, travel is significantly lower: As of January 3, 2020, about 2.4 million people traveled.

U.S. Department of Disease Control and Prevention Health officials, including the centers, have maintained that the risk of infection in the aircraft is low. But in the wake of the collapse of coronavirus-ridden hospitals across the country, public health experts and the CDC urged people not to travel on holidays and instead recommended people stay at home and celebrate only with their family members.

Pope Francis said on Sunday that he was saddened by the travels of those who decided to travel and entertain during the holidays, saying they did not care about others.

Public health officials said small gatherings and shared meals led to post-Thanksgiving Day spikes of Covid-19 cases across the country, and predicted a similar increase in Christmas and New Year.

According to the CDC, some 1.5 million new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the US in the last seven days. A total of 125,544 people were admitted to U.S. hospitals on Sunday, according to an analysis of the Covid Trekking Project. Data by holidays is still affected, while closed reporting fees and limited employees lead to reported errors.

Debra Fur-Holden, associate dean for public health integration at Michigan State University, said the post-holiday reality would be an increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths. “It works this way,” she said.

“Covid fatigue is real, and people crave interactions, which leads them to take calculated risks,” said Dwight Cutter Fr-Holden. She added that the public health guide to living apart in your home has become deaf, as it does not respect major life events such as the living experience and funeral of missing family and friends.

In addition, some people have covid distrust, and many younger people believe they are not at risk of serious illness, he said. Also, there are many deals on rental rentals.

“People are shooting the dice a little bit, and the covid refusal is exacerbating the problem,” Dr. Fure-Holden said.
