Stage University of New York, One One will send all its campus students home and postpone all individual classes and activities for the rest of the fall semester, the school announced Thursday.
College Ledge was in the middle of its two-week “break” period, which began on August 30, with a focus on testing and limiting the spread of coronavirus.
389 – Since the beginning of the semester on 24th August, due to the increase in confirmed cases, the college college has decided to stop personal education.
“While this is sudden news and because no one wants to, the risk to our campus and the Vananta community is huge. I know most of our students have been working hard to protect our campus from day one,” said Barbara, the school’s president. Jean Morris, said in a statement. “We are committed to doing everything we can to alleviate this situation and today, this means the end of residential accommodation for this semester.”
Students who test negative will be asked to leave campus housing by next Monday. Those wishing to stay on campus will be given the opportunity to request permission to stay.
Dr Anthony Fawcett, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told NBC’s Today show on Wednesday that sending students home after an outbreak was “the worst thing you can do.”
“Keep them in a place at the university that is adequately arranged from other students, but don’t let them go home because they can spread it to their home state.”
