The Reg Reagan Health Authority on Thursday announced 382 new suspected or confirmed cases and two new deaths linked to Covid-19, a daily case count since mid-August.
The increase in cases continues a frightening trend as Oregon saw a significant increase in case counts, positivity rates and hospital admissions since Tuesday.
The agency acknowledged this, saying the count was “an important reminder to stay six feet apart; Cover the face when a physical distance of six feet cannot be maintained and does not limit the size of the gathering.
Where new cases are by county: Baker (1), Benton (8), Klakmasmas (32), Klatop (4), Columbia (1), Koos (2), Crook (1), Deschauts (5), Douglas (5), Grant (1) Hood River (1), Jackson (20), Jefferson (5), Josephine (1), Klamath (2), Lake (1), Lane (38), Lynn (15), Malher (15), Marion (48) , Moro (4) Multnomah (92), Polk (3), Umatila (11), Union (4) Vasco (6), Washington (50) and Yamhill (6).
New casualties: On Reagon’s 538th death linked to coronavirus, 88-year-old Douglas County has an underlying health condition. He tested positive on September 13 and died at Mercy Medical Center on September 20.
Jan. 539 is an 82-year-old Malheur County man with underlying medical conditions. He tested positive on September 4 and on September 22. He died at Alfonso Medical Center in Nantario.
Prevalence of infection: State officials reported 368 newly confirmed infections from 379 people, which is equivalent to a .4 %% positivity rate.
Who is infected: Newly confirmed or assumed infections increased in the following age groups: 0-9 (20); 10-19 (34); 20-29 (79); 30-39 (78); 40-49 (53); 50-59 (44); 60-69 (30); 70-79 (17); 80 and over (6)
Who is in the hospital: The state report said 139 Oregonians with coronavirus confirmations were currently hospitalized Thursday, one more than the previous day. Reg Reagan is just below its capacity, with hundreds of hospital beds and ventilators available.
Since it started: Oregon has the lowest number of confirmed or assumed infections in the country at 31,865 and 539 people have died. To date, 648,949 Oregonians have been tested.
