Coronavirus in Oregon: 408 new cases, 4 deaths, officials report


The Oregon Health Authority reported 408 new confirmed and suspected cases of coronavirus on Saturday.

Four deaths were also reported Saturday after a record nine deaths reported on Friday.

This is less than the record 437 cases announced on July 16.

Where new cases are by county: Baker (2), Benton (1), Clackamas (30), Columbia (1), Coos (3), Crook (1), Deschutes (19), Douglas (6), Harney (1), Hood River (5) , Jackson (7), Jefferson (9), Josephine (5), Klamath (3), Lane (5), Lincoln (2), Linn (3), Malheur (11), Marion (52), Morrow (10) , Multnomah (73), Polk (11), Umatilla (80), Wasco (2), Washington (58) and Yamhill (8).

New fatalities: A 66-year-old Multnomah County man who tested positive on June 14 died on July 14, becoming the 283rd death in the state.

Death number 284 was an 88-year-old Multnomah County man. He tested positive on July 10 and died on July 21.

Death number 285 was an 87-year-old Multnomah County man. He tested positive on July 7 and died on July 17.

An 85-year-old man from Umatilla County who tested positive on July 14 and died on July 24 is death number 286.

Since she began: Oregon has now reported 16,492 total cases and 286 deaths. 357,518 people in Oregon have been tested.
