Coronavirus attacks 14 family members, kills 1 after Texas party

According to a report, fourteen members of a Texas family tested positive for coronavirus after a party last month, one dead and one life-sustaining.

Tony Green, the Dallas man who organized the party and believed the global pandemic was a hoax, called the group of infections “a harsh lesson on the reality of COVID-19,” NBC News reported.

“In a great hurry, I began to forecast the word search on this’ scam,” Green said in a column on the Dallas Voice. “I thought the virus was a hoax. He believed that the mainstream media and Democrats used it to create panic, collapse the economy and destroy Trump’s chances of being reelected. “

“First I call myself, but now this is personal and I fell on my sword,” he wrote. “And I promise you that if we continue to be more concerned with the interruption of our lives than with stopping this virus, no American will be saved.”

Green’s epiphany followed a June 13 party to celebrate the birth of a grandchild in the family.

Green, 43, who he says is “a gay conservative,” organized the party with his partner, where neither they nor their parents wore masks. The next day, Green woke up feeling sick, and in two days his partner and parents too.

Within days, her mother-in-law and sister-in-law also fell ill, as did the parents of the newborn who was the reason for the party.

Green and his partner’s father, Rafael Ceja, were finally admitted to the hospital on June 24, and later, so was Ceja’s mother, who died of the deadly bug on July 2 in the hospital room alongside her son, said NBC.

Ceja, meanwhile, received life support, the outlet said.

“I can’t help but feel responsible to convince our families that it was safe to have a reunion,” Green said. “There are many things that I would have done differently.”

Green tried to be good at creating a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the family, but was not welcome.

“It is with great regret and deep regret, but I must inform each taxpayer that I am obligated to end this fundraiser and reimburse each donor,” he wrote on the page. “I have tried to act with honor, serving in the best interest of Rafael and Marisa, no one else.”

“Unfortunately, others within the family are upset with my attempts to provide additional love, support, prayers, and financial contributions in their time of need,” he wrote. “Due to her continued harassment and vengeful behavior (against my advice) Marisa now refuses to accept this money.”
