Corey Anderson looks at two fighters after Tiko’s victory

UKSville, Conn. – Corey Anderson is interested in fighting after his successful promotional debut in Ballet 251, there are only two fighters – and one has the Light Heavyweight Championship.

“(I want) Phil Davis and (Vadim) Nemkov – two people were fighting for the belt,” Anderson said at a post-fight news conference. “After they (fight), I want a winner. I have no reason not to get it. (Ryan) Bader is going heavyweight to save his belt. If he lived at 205, I would fight with him. But he is gone. Luto (Machida) has just lost, so why should I fight the loser? I want someone to win. ”

Anderson (14-5 MMA, 1-0 BMA) signed with Bellator in La Gusta. On Thursday, he soaked his feet in the promotion as he headed for a second-round TKO victory against Melvin Manhoff. The impressive performance sets him perfectly for what he is a dominant performance belt-holder.

While both fighters have expressed interest, the case of Nemkov (12-2 MMA, 5-0 BMA) vs. Davis (22-5 MMA, 9-2 BMA) has not been reported. Ballet’s president Scott Cocker publicly pledged for a matchup.

If Nemkov and Davis face each other inside the cage, it won’t be the first time. Nemkov defeated former UFC Light Heavyweight Davis in a split decision in November 2018. Anderson predicts the match will be reduced again.

“We’ve already seen Nemkov beat him once (and) I think he’s gotten better now,” Anderson said. “He’s going to do the same thing, so technically, I want Nemkov. But if Phil wins, I want Phil. I want a belt. I want that belt on my wall. I’m dreaming about it. When I wake up every morning I want a belt on my TV.I want to see it (and say), ‘I did it.’

Before he returns to Bellator’s cage, Anderson’s next move has nothing to do with the fight – but his seasonal hobby.

“(I’ll fight) once the hunting season is over,” Anderson said. “Let me go back to my tree stand. Got a little deer to kill me, baby. February 15 is the last day of the Jersey season. Then call everyone you want. ”

Baleter 251 was held Thursday at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The main card streamed after the prelims on MMA Junky on the CMS Sports Network.
